The Japanese Club Newsletter was started in August 2014 with the hopes of educating the UNCG community more about the Japanese culture. Each newsletter has a main article about a Japanese cultural topic, a Japanese language topic, and (we can't forget this) the anime of the week.

Ayumi Hamasaki. Perfume. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. AKB48. What do these four things have in common? They are all artists who fall under the musical genre of Japanses pop. Japanese Pop, or JPOP (ジェイポップ), is well-known for its catchy tunes and bubbly feel. Nicholas Griffo (2014-15 Officer - "The Sixth") talks about one of the most successful producers in the JPOP world, Nakata Yasutaka.
